We are excited to launch our 2017-2018 Innovative Leaders Institute and the inaugural Tennessee Rural STEM Collaborative. These programs provide opportunities for school level leaders and rural classroom educators to expand their understanding of STEM in action and collaborate to promote meaningful change in their educational communities. Tennessee Rural STEM Collaborative – Applications due August 14
The Tennessee Rural STEM Collaborative provides a unique opportunity for rural educators to identify issues pertinent to their educational community and collaborate with a local cohort to develop targeted solutions. To improve statewide access, there will be three cohorts, one in West Tennessee, one in Middle Tennessee and one in East Tennessee. There will be one whole group kick-off event in Nashville followed by two local convenings and two virtual check-in meetings. Each cohort will break into smaller work-alike groups to develop a meaningful solution to an issue in rural STEM education. Innovative Leaders Institute – Applications due August 14
The Innovative Leaders Institute is a year-long training and mentoring experience for educators led by some of the top STEM and innovative school leaders in our state. The Innovative Leaders Institute provides participants opportunities to network with other building-level leaders from across Tennessee, visit innovative schools to examine different models of STEM integration, and share best practices and resources with the expectation of having an immediate impact on leader practice.
